How to Refresh and Reset Windows 8 ?

Are you facing problems in your windows 8 with third party software’s? Are you planning to reinstall windows? No it’s not necessary in the case of windows 8. Things to be Noted Before Refreshing or Resetting Windows

Before you Refresh or Reset Windows you have to note down few important parameters, Refreshing your windows will reinstall operating system and the apps that came up with windows and the apps you installed in the windows 8 store. None of your personal files or settings is removed or changed it remains the same in your windows.

If you reset your windows it will reinstall operating system and the apps came up with the windows. All your personal files and settings will be deleted. Your system will looks like a fresh installed windows. 

In some cases while resetting or refreshing windows may encounter some missing files in such scenario you will be asked to insert recovery media. Recovery media is your DVD or your Flash or USB Drives. If your system came up with windows 8 you will be asked to create recovery media during your first use. If you upgrade your windows using windows 8 DVD or Thumb drive you can use it. Alternately you can create recovery media in windows.

Refreshing Windows

Note: 
Refreshing windows 8.1(Recently you Upgrade Windows 8 to Windows 8.1) with the system having windows 8 recovery partition in it, your system will be restored to windows 8 only. You need to upgrade windows 8 to windows 8.1.

Apps you installed via website and DVD will be removed. The App that came up with the windows and apps you installed via windows store will be reinstalled. You will get the list of apps removed on your desktop after refreshing windows.

None of your personal files or settings will be removed during refreshing windows.

1. Tap or click on settings and then change pc settings
2. Tap or click on update and recovery
3. Tap or click on recovery 
4. Under Refresh your PC without affecting your files, tap or click Get started.
5. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Resetting Windows

Note:
Resetting windows 8.1(Recently you Upgrade Windows 8 to Windows 8.1) with the system having windows 8 recovery partition in it, your system will be restored to windows 8 only. You need to upgrade windows 8 to windows 8.1.

All your personal files, settings and the apps you installed with window will be removed and only the apps that came up with windows will be reinstalled during the Resetting.  Your system will be like a fresh installed window with default settings.

1. Tap or click on settings and then change pc settings
2. Tap or click on update and recovery
3. Tap or click on recovery
4. Under remove everything and reinstall Windows, tap or click Get started.
5. Follow the instructions on the screen.

You will be asked whether to erase data thoroughly or quickly. If you choose quickly resetting will be performed quickly. If you choose thoroughly it will take a bit longer time.  Share your windows refreshing and resetting experience with us.
