We commonly use USB or Flash Drives to transfer the data or to carry some datas with you while you on work or while travelling. While using USB or Flash drives in any of the operating system avaliable in the market you will see an option to safely remove your device. You can ask a question what is the use of safely removing USB.

When we plug our Flash or USB drives into our system or in a laptop there is some transfer of data from between the devices. Once we finished transferring the data from system to usb or flash devices you may not notice some of the datas are working with some of the application in the background. But when we safely remove the device will help the system to stop those background applications and it won't cause any problems to system and the usb drives.

When just plug off your device from a system or from a laptop it may corrupt the data in the usb drive or the datas copied to that drive. Sometimes this will cause the USB drive with some problems such as it won't get detected on a particular system or i wont allow you to copy data into that device. When we copy a file in image format of some 4GB in size from system to usb or flash drive of 16GB. You may get this error " File too large for destination file system ". You may wonder how this happens when copying file of some 4GB to 16GB drive ? Here is the possible explanation and solution for this problems.

Most of the USB or Flash Drives are formatted to FAT32 format. It is limited to single file size of 3.99GB. But when copying file in image format of size more than 4GB are considered as single file and it won't copy to the destination folder. The complete image file is considered as a single file. From this you may clear that you can't copy single file of size more than 4GB.

How to copy this file into a USB drive ?

This files can be copied into a USB drive but you must have your USB or flash drive in NTFS format. Format your pen drive to NTFS. While formating it select format as NTFS in format menu and click format and it will take some time. Once format is completed now your usb or flash drive in NTFS format. It will support copying single file of large size.

Other option to copy this file to usb or flash drive is to split the file of large size into two or more files of smaller size using the utilities such as winrar and so on. Image files can be extracted using winrar or by using tools such as daemon tool. Extract the file of large size convert them into smaller size. Now copy this files to your usb or flash drive. When we buy a usb accessories for our laptop we might heard of this USB 3.0 and USB 2.0. We might also got a question which is faster in accessing data ? Here are few factors we must take a look at it.

USB 2.0 is capable of transferring data at a rate of 480Mbps and it works in half duplex mode of communication. USB 3.0 is capable of transferring data at a rate of 4.8Gbps and it works in asynchronous mechanism, Full duplex mode of communication. Now you can judge of your own which version of USB is faster.

But while using in your laptop you wanna make sure that your laptop buses are capable of accessing those high quality of data. Lower bus capacity may lead to low data accessing speed. Hope this information might be useful for you, Happy Computing !
