Mozilla leading web browser introduced a new add-ons for its users to track and visualize the websites they visit. This add-on works by tracking the website you visit and the third party associated with that website. These datas are collected and they are visualized to the uses to show how they are tracked in the web while they surf.

Lightbeam also offers three modes of operation to its users to visualize the information about the websites and the third parties associated with it. Three modes are graph, list and clock to visualize the information. List is the basic type which will list the information of the websites. Graph will visualize the information with the website logo to float freely and its is surrounded by third parties. Clock shows how many different service are used by the user at a given time with dots in the form of clock

Users worry about the websites they track the information while they surf and their worry continues as mozilla itself starts to track the information. Mozilla has come with the solution for this problem as they introduced the contribute data toggle button. When contribute data toggle button is on mozilla will start to track the information to improve their service, but when this is off it wont send any data.

Contribute data is located on the top right corner of the light beam interface. Mozilla developed this add-ons with the help of  Ford Foundation, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), and students at the Social + Interactive Media (SIM) Centre at Emily Carr University of Art + Design.
