Explorer.exe is the file that is related to desktop view. If that file is lost then you can view or do anything in the desktop. Some of you might wrongly assumed it as it the file needed for the internet explorer. Use of Explorer.exe
* It is used to default windows user shell
* It is responsible for desktop, file manager and taskbar
* Explorer.exe is safely terminated by using the taskbar
* Doing so, however, will prevent you from launching any programs via the graphical user interface (as your taskbar, start menu, and icons will be gone)
If you lost your explorer.exe then you start it by using task manager
* Start the task manager ( shift + ctrl + delete )
* In the application tab
* Click on the new task
* Enter " explorer.exe" without quotes
