What Does Beta Refers to in Software or Game ?

Beta in a software on in game refers to the that that application or game or softwae is still in the developmental stage and their full version is not yet ready. Software development stage is consist of different stages and they are named as pre-alpha, alpha and beta. Here is some of the interesting facts about the software development stages.

Pre-Alpha

In this stage software or game are in the development stage and they are not released for any testing prupose. They still in activities such as software design, software development, requirement analysis and unit testing. 

Alpha

First phase in the software testing and it is initially released only by the open source software and game developers to the public for testing. In this phase may lead to crash or data loss in the application or in the game. Usually this phase is tested by using white box technologies. Later they are moved to black box or gray box technologies. 

Beta

This phase begins with the completion of software feature. The feature complete software may have many bugs, speed, data loss, crash and performance issues in it.
